Design And Implementation Of A Computer Based Civil Service Appraisal Promotion System (A Case Study Of Abia State Civil Service Commission)

ABSTRACT

This project is aimed at revealing the benefits of computerization in the promotion process of the Local Government system especially as it concerns the senior staff of the Local government. The project explained the way the Abia State Civil Service Commission embarks on promotion process of the local Government staff in Abia State. The researcher carried out a detailed investigation into the personal management department, which undertakes the promotion and advancement of Local Government. Staff at the Abia State Local Government Civil Service Commission. Information was procured through oral interview of staff involved in the promotion process, and critical examination of records thus the analysis is based on investigations and findings carried out. Computerization offered advice to the Local Govt. Civil Service Commission of Abia State, increase speed and accuracy of processing promotion records for effective promotion to encourage efficiency and productivity in the Civil Service Commission scheme.
