ABSTRACT

A motorized rotating drum mixer was designed and fabricated. The machine has '-4 a capacity of 5.51iters.Performance tests on the machine showed that the best mix of feed (batch with lowest coefficient of variation 7%) was obtained when the machined was operated at a drum speed of 130.9rpm and a paddle speed of 350rpm (as measured by a digital tachometer) and a mixing time of Animal eat food which give them energy necessary for the function of their bodies and the materials indispensable for their production of meat and egg To keep them (animals) in good health and allow them to attain maximum production, their needs (nutritional) must be supplied. It has been observed that result are optimal, both as regards to hygiene and technical performance. Feed is said to balanced when it satisfies all animals needs without one element of the diet being excessive in relation to other, Say (1987) 6minutcs.
