ABSTRACT
The design and construction of a 1.5K.VA solar driven inverter using Pulse Width Modulation (pwm) was successfully implemented. The solar panel gets its energy supply from sunlight and generates voltage which is supplied to the battery. The inverter which is connected to the battery, in its circuitry generates Alternating Current (AC). The inverter is fitted with the SG3524N chip, which is a fixed frequency Pulse Width Modulation (pwm), voltage regulator, control circuit which provides signal oscillations necessary for the inversion from DC-AC. The designed oscillation was 0.02 seconds and the duty cycle was able 50 percent. The test result conducted showed that the inverter was able to carry a load of 1200 watts with an output voltage of 219V, 4.94A and the battery DC voltage of 12V. Therefore; assuming a power factor 0.8 and using a 100A, the inverter was designed and constructed.
