ABSTRACT

This chapter is set to outline Z didactically discourse most of the trends in contemporary university libraries which when compared with the past situation, will relate how far Nigerian univers’t libraries has come and might need to emerge in future. Succinctly, theories of le staff and smaller buildings, the scramble for higher degrees, adoption of informal communication technologies, publishing in tune with academic prestige, combing011 of practice with teaching, depletion of practicing librarians through migrati^ teaching, funding models, institutional interferences, and possible reasons for *th trends are particularized in this chapter.
