ABSTRACT

Due to the imbalance between the electric power produced by the prime mover and the power consumed by loads including the network losses at all time instants, controllers are needed in achieving this purpose. Thus, this work deals with the control of power system dynamics. In this study, various techniques of controlling power system dynamics are discussed comprehensively and systematically examined under different techniques namely; AGC in both single and two area system , and excitation system and AVR. This techniques is based on utilizing SIMULINK in building system models and simulating their behavior. Also state space formulation including the electrical and mechanical model of the synchronous machines are presented.
