Contributions Of Farmers' Co-Operative Societies To Agricultural Development In Ohafia Local Government Area Of Abia State

ABSTRACT

This research work was designed to see to the contributions of farmers' co-operative societies to agricultural development in ohafia local government area of Abia State. Four research questions guided the study while four hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significance. The study was carried out in Ohafia in Abia State. Population for the study was 97. A 30 item questionnaire was developed and used to collect data. Data obtained were analyzed using mean and standard deviation to answer research questions while t-test statistic was used to test hypotheses at probability of 0.05 level. It was found out by the study that farmers' co-operative societies contribute immensely to agricultural development in the area. It was therefore recommended to ameliorate problem areas of co-operative society towards agricultural development.
