Constraints To Effective Teaching And Learning Of Physics In Secondary Schools In Umuahia North Local Government Area Of Abia State

ABSTRACT

Effective teaching and learning of physics is an open door to a bright scientific future for the leaders of tomorrow. You can imagine what constraints to effective teaching and learning could be. Thus, the study was to assess the constraints to effective teaching and learning of physics in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State. Secondary school Students in Umuahia North L.G.A as well as its physics teachers have not lived to the expectations of providing effective teaching and learning physics for the provision of prominent and efficient physicist. Thus, the objective of the research was to bring to book the constraints to effective teaching and learning of physics in secondary schools in Umuahia North Local Government Area. The researcher used primary and secondary methods of data collection to generate the needed data. The data obtained through questionnaire was presented in tables and expressed in simple percentages. The following were some of the finding which included factors from the students and teachers away well as regard to these constraints. The researcher therefore recommend that these students and teachers factors should be adhered to, as to eliminating these constraints so as to bring into reality the real sense of teaching and learning physics in secondary schools in Umuahia North L. G.A.
