ABSTRACT

 The study examines the consequences of food insecurity on sustainable lood consumption pattern among households in Obanliku Local Government Area of Cross River State. Food insecurity remains a pressing issue in Obanliku despite government efforts to address it. The research aims to access food price on food among household consumption pattern, examine the effect of poor agricultural practices on food consumption pattern among households, to determine the effect of conflict and insecurity on food consumption pattern, to determine the impact of climate change on food consumption pattern among households, and to determine the effect of land on the availability of food consumption. The study adopts predictive correlational design, a multi- stage sampling technique involving proportionate, sample random and accidental sample techniques was employed, and data were collected from a sample of households using a structured questionnaire. Hypothesis were tested using simple linear regression and multiple regression at 0.05 level of significance (that is 95% confidence level). The study finding reveal a significant impact of Food insecurity on sustainable Food consumption patterns, highlighting the need for targeted intervention to address Food insecurity and. promote sustainable Food practices. To recommend policy intervention and strategies that can help address Food insecurity and promote sustainable Food consumption pattern among households in Obanliku Local Government Area.
