ABSTRACT

When a small business purchase a small computer, one of the first accounting application the business implements is the payroll. A pay roll contains a list of the employees in an organization and the amount of money each has earned for a specific pay period. This work is on computerized payroll system design and implementation, a case study of Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike. A computerized payroll system is not only faster and more accurate than the manual method, but once the data has been stored in the computer, a business can print automatically a variety of report such as employee pay slip, with other irrmations relating to the employee salary. In the course of study, and investigation, a review of the old manual method of pay roll was achieved. Chapter one is an introduction and a literature review of the work was achieved in the second chapter. Chapter three is based on the systems analysis and the concept of the new system is drawn in chapter four with the design of the computerized payroll system in a visual basic programming language version 6.0. Chapter five is the documentation and the implementation of the newly design and developed system. While the user's guide, summary, recommendationand conclusion is in the last chapter six.
