Budgetary Planning And Control As A Tool For Effective Management Of Resources (A Study Of Nigeria Breweries)

ABSTRACT

The study investigated on Budgetary Planning and control us a tool for effective management of resources. The objectives of the study are to ascertain the relationship between budgeting planning and control and the performance of Nigeria Breweries plc to determine the effect of cost reductions on effectiveness of Nigeria Breweries p/c and to determine the general system of budgeting and budgetary control practice in Nigeria Breweries plc. To achieve the objectives of the study, survey research design was adopted. A total of 339 questionnaires were administered to the respondents of which 200 were completely filled and returned which represent 59% of the administered questionnaire. The researcher adopted primary data in getting the required information. In testing the hypothesis, analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used. The findings revealed that budgeting planning and control has a significant effect on the performance of Nigerian Breweries plc. The researcher recommends that efforts should he made by management of organizations both profit and non profit to sensitize the employees on its importance so as to enhance performance. It also recommends that organizations should develop more formal practice in the development of budgetary planning and controls, that is, planning, monitoring and control and budget participation.
