Assessment Of The Effectiveness Of Accounting Information System In Decision Making In A Small And Medium Scale Enterprises. (Study Of Selected Industries In Imo State)

ABSTRACT

This research work is on the "Application of the Accounting Information System in a small and Medium Scale Enterprises (A case study of selected industries in imo State). The Primary and Secondary data were used. The data collected were analyzed and the hypothesis is tested with chi-square. This population of these industries is hundred (100) and the sample size used here is sixteen (16). The following findings were made: That the accounting information system in the industry provides very adequate information for decision making. That the accounting information system meets the information needs of the managers. The following recommendations were also made: There should be installed internal audit department to ensure the accuracy of accounting information and increase reliance on the information supplied to its users. Qualified staff should continually be employed to manage their accounting department.
