Appraisal Of Expenditure Control Effectiveness In Government Hospitals: A Study Of Federal Medical Centre Umuahia, Abia State.

ABSTRACT

This study examined the effectiveness of expenditure control in government hospitals as a tool for: enhancing financial accountability in public sector establishment using Federal Medical Center- Umuahia, Abia State as a study. The research study examined the various control techniques employed by the organization, how effective they were and obstacles that might hindered their effectiveness. The study made use of primary data obtained through the administration of well structured question to 24 respondents. The data collected were analyzed using Chi-square. The hypothesis was tested and analyzed. The empirical result shows that there is no significant relationship between financial control and expenditure control (Ho1). The study recommends that standard quality of expenditure control should be implemented by the government to ensure quality financial accountability in government hospitals.
