Application Of Accounting Information In Decision-Making (A Study Of Pz Cussons In Aba)

ABSTRACT

The study investigated the relevance of accounting information in decision making process. The major objectives of the study are effectiveness of accounting information on planning process in PZ Cussons, to ascertain the extent to which accounting information generated by accounts departments has contributed to effective decision making and to examine the effect of accounting information on the performance of PZ Cussons. To achieve the objectives of the study, survey research design was adopted. The researcher adopted primary data in getting the required information. In testing the hypotheses, Pearson's product moment correlation was used. The findings in chapter four revealed that effectiveness of accounting information has a significant effect on the planning process in PZ Cussons. The findings also revealed that accounting information generated by accounts departments has a significant effect on effective decision making. The researcher recommends that Seminar/training should be given to staff of accounting department to enable them understand the importance of information in decision making.
