Android Based Learning System With Voice To Text Technology

Abstract

This research work deals with the development of a mobile based tutor application

that runs on android operating system. This platform will help children on how to

read and write alphabet and numeric values. It is done in such a wa)' that once

anything is pronounced using human voice, it captures it and displays it in a plain

text. Android Studio will be used for the development of the front end while Sqlite

will be used for the backend (Database).

In this contemporary age of ours, child learning and understanding of English

words is of most paramount importance. The child ability to learn speaking and

spelling is of great importance. Through the generic means of learning where a

person (Teacher) transfer knowledge to child via teaching process, all the above

process are done manually. However, this manually operated system posses some

short falls like absentness, inconsistency, unseemliness and inaccuracy in the

process of teaching spelling and pronunciation of English words. The problem of

the existing system made it not compactable to this contemporary age or

1. Lacking in the area of English pronunciation and spelling.
