ABSTRACT

This work titled - Analysis of fraud and unethical practices in the Nigerian banking industry. Centred at the effects of fraud in the Nigerian banking industry performance. This study reviewed empirically the impact of on the banking industry. Further analysis earned out through the use of regression analysis on data collected from the secondary source shows volume offraud cases has significant reducing effect on commercial banks profitability; volume offraud activities have significant impact on commercial bank nonperforming loans and; fraud activities have significant reducing effect on commercial banks profitability. Recommendation was made that banks put in place adequate measures to protect customers funds and to also to put in place internal security that will guide fraud execution in banks.
