ABSTRACT

Education has been known to empower the citizenry and to liberate people from poverty, ignorance and slavery. According to Bown and Okedera (1981) education plays important roles in transforming and improving quality of life of the citizens socially, economically, morally, culturally and politically. The major goals of education generally are to provide men and women with the minimum skills necessary for them to operate positively in their society and for acquiring vocational skills to enable them to be self-reliant.
