ABSTRACT

 This study examines the effect of entrepreneurship determinants among graduates of Michael Okpara University ofAgriculture, Umudike; using six departmentsfrom college ofmanagement sciences as a case study. The target population for the study was 1227 comprising ofstaff (lecturers) and students ofthe selected departments. A sample size of302 audiences was drawn using Taro Yamen approach. A total oftwo hundred andfifty-eight (258) was returned (that is 85% ofthe number distributed) while forty-four (44) (that is 15% ofthe number distributed) of the questionnaire was lost to human errors. Primary data was collected using questionnaires and interview schedules. Analysis was done using descriptive statistics means, standard deviation, frequencies andpercentages presented in tables. A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. Stratified random sampling technique was adopted. The hypotheses were tested here using inferential statistics. The study amongst others found that there is significant relationship between attitude toward the behavior and entrepreneurial intention was analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) Fcai 7.121, p (0.009) < 0.05. There is significant relationship between perceived behavioral control and entrepreneurial intention Fcai 6.453, p (0.003) < 0.05 and significant relationship equally exist between entrepreneurship education and entrepreneurial intention. The F-calcuIated (Fca| 9.052 at 5 percent significant level) and p (0.011) < 0.05. The study among others recommended in accordance with the findings that the University should encourage departments to be more practical in their various courses ofstudy; students ofMichael Okpara University ofAgriculture, Umudike should learn to follow the right group offriend or students who will help maximize entrepreneurial potentials; entrepreneurship education should be upheld and intensified in the institution order to help students develop their skills in various areas of life; this invariably will go a long way to reduce high rate of unemployment in the country in general in the nearestfuture.
