A Statistical Analysis Of Tile Monthly Peak Power Supply A Case Study Of Umuahia Metropoils For The Period 2000 - 2005

ABSTRACT

In this project, we did a statistical analysis of monthly Peak Power Supply in Umuahia municipal. To certify certain aims and objectives which motivated this work, we applied different statistical analytical methods like the Time Series, ANOVA etc, to break down the data available so as to obtain the required results. I However, certain assumptions were inherent in the data and hence were justified through appropriate means like the test for normality, I constant variance, and randomness etc. I Faced with the problem of obtaining future events as regards this I1" work (Peak Power Supply), a probability model was fitted using the statistical software package (MlNlTAB) hence, generating a forecast. I The ARIMA model which generated the forecast is given by ARIMA I (0, 1, 1). This signified a moving average of order one. I Also, the analysis of variance was used to determine if there were any significant differences in the means of the years, and the Duncan I Multiple Range Test was used to separate the means of the years and the result showed that the means of the years 2000 and 2005 differed significantly. More so, recommendations were mad both to students who may want to embark on project works that may be related to Power Supply. Recommendations were also made to the Power Holding Company of Nigeria towards enhancing Power Supply.
