A Statistical Analysis Of Queuing System (A Case Study Of United Bank For Africa)

ABSTRACT
This work estimates the length of time a customer is likely to spend on a queue, the arrival and the service rate of the system. The data analyzed were collected from UBA, 1 Factory Road Branch, Umuahia. The data on arrival time, service time and inter-arrival were tested to determine which distribution they follow in order to identify the queue model for the data. The results obtained show service rate is 0.1823 and arrival rate is 0.3745. Based on the results of the analysis, model (M!M/S) was adopted. The performance measure of the model shows that the probability that customer has to wait is 0.47, the probability that servers are idle is 0.103, average number of customer waiting to be served is 1.026, the average time a customer spends in the queue is 8 minutes.
