ABSTRACT
This unique piece of work is designed to highlight on the role of taxation on economic development of Nigeria. This study is concerned with the instracacies of the system in Nigeria, the determination of revenue capacity and test for the rate at which tax' revenue has contributed to the building of nation. The data collected are analysis using the chisquare 3. Hypothesis were presented and tested. It holds true after testing the hypothesis that there is strong relation between tax revenue and total revenue generated annually by the federal government. Finally, the current expenditure of the depends on tax revenue.
