Impact Of Cost Reduction And Control On The Profitability Of Selected Manufacturing Companies

ABSTRACT

This work "impact of cost reduction and control on the profitability of some selected manufacturing companies performance" has chosen to look into problem and to evolve solution on whether inadequate cost reduction and control system influences management decision. The research methodology used was interview and questionnaire. The researcher gained most of his knowledge from book written by renowned authors in the costing and financial analysts. Using Unilever Nigeria Plc, PZ Industries and International as a case study and the method of data analysis used by the researcher were Z test. The major findings of the study was relieved on table 4.1.6 respondent believed and agreed on the need of cost reduction and control on the profitability of some selected manufacturing companies. It is the intention of the research project to evolve solutions where observed -any short coming in area of uncertainty on the examination of impact of cost reduction and control on the profitability of some selected manufacturing companies performance, which undoubted hampers the revenue generation potential so that the inefficiencies are brought to light consequently. Thus there should be cost reduction and control in the compilation of historical data. This helps to ascertain the cost of production which can influences high or low market price of any commodity and the researcher recommends that the staff of the organization should be given opportunity to attend seminars on related issues and there should be a forum where they can complain to their supervisor.
