Effect Of Internal Control On Accountability Of The Public Sector Organizations (A (Study Of Ministry Of Education, Abia State)

ABSTRACT

The study investigated the effect of internal control on accountability of public sector organization of Nigeria. Using Abia State ministry of education as a study. The researcher adopted survey researched design and administered questionnaire to a cross section of 43 staff of the ministry of which 39 fully completed and returned the questionnaire. The ordinary lest square based on simple regression analysis engaged to ascertain the relationship of the variables The results established their internal control measures have significant effect on value for money on prospects, there is significant effect of internal control measures on compliance with policies and internal control measures have significant effect can provide quality record keeping of public sector organization in Nigeria. The study concludes that internal control has significant effect on accountability of public sector organizations in Nigeria The study therefore recommends that public sector organizations should ensure that there are internal control measures for project execution so as to attain value for the money expended on such projects
